Dear Friends

I’m taking a break from flash fiction and poetry this week to share news about my new novel, Catherine Over Water.

Catherine’s pub date is almost upon us, and I’m getting very excited.  This week Goodreads began accepting entries for a free raffle, and the prize is a copy of my novel!  Throughout the month of August, if you are a Goodreads member, please sign up to get your name in for the Giveaway, and please add Catherine Over Water to your “Want to Read” list.

It costs nothing but it will help me immensely in my efforts to promote my book.

Catherine Over Water is the story of a woman whose tween daughter disappeared five years ago.  Stuck in a limbo of despair and anger, afraid to hope, afraid to grieve, Catherine is living a hermit-like existence—until she meets a talking crow.

The twist is that Catherine suffers from a sensory integration disorder called face blindness—an inability to recognize even familiar people.  Conversely, crows excel in facial recognition.  Soon this chatty young crow, whom Catherine dubs Veronica, is serving as her support animal, perching on her shoulder to whisper the names of colleagues and neighbors into her ear.

If you enjoyed Remarkably Bright Creatures, it’s a good bet you’ll love Catherine Over Water.

Before you scroll away, let me share one more thing.  My website has undergone an amazing transformation thanks to the talents of Maggie Ruf at Sparkpoint Studio.  It’s absolutely beautiful, and I hope you’ll swing by there to take a look.  At my request, Maggie has added stunning photos of Northern California, my home base, where most of my many stories are set.  Of course, front and center are links to sale sites where you may pre-order a copy of Catherine Over Water.
